4月28日～5月7日、モナコ・モンテカルロでEPT（European Poker Tour）モンテカルロ、FPS（France Poker Serise）モンテカルロが開催された。
参加費約70万円（€5,300）のEPTメインイベントの日程は5月2日～5月7日。747人の参加者が集まり、リエントリーを含めた総エントリー数は1073となった今回は、賞金総額約7億円（€5,204,050）、優勝賞金約1億2600万円（€939,840）をかけたビッグトーナメントとなった。
ブラジル初のEPTメインイベントタイトルを獲得
トーナメントを制したのはブラジルのMarcelo Simoes Mesqueu氏。ブラジルを中心とする南米のトーナメントに数多く出場しており、5月14日現在の総獲得賞金は1,765,850ドル。獲得した939,840ユーロの賞金は彼にとってキャリアハイとなる額だった。
ファイナルテーブルで圧倒的なリードを手にし、最後は2019年のEPTプラハでメインイベントで13位に入賞した経験のあるデンマークのMorten Hvam氏とのヘッズアップを制してブラジルから初となるEPTチャンピオンの栄光を獲得。4月28日から5月2日にかけて行われたFPSメインイベントでの入賞（19位、獲得賞金€9,450）と合わせ、今大会では2回入賞を果たしている。
FPSメインの優勝もブラジルのLucas Scafini氏。近年注目を集めるポーカー国であるブラジルが、EPT、FPSで2つのビッグタイトルを獲得した。
日本人プレイヤーのインマネは4名！気になる詳細は…？
今回日本からの参加者で入賞を果たしたのは4名。最高位は45位のRintaro Kagawa氏で獲得賞金は約220万円（€16,440）。次いで89位にKazuhiko Yotsushika氏（€11,550）、96位にToru Ida氏（€10,410）、次いで109位にKosei Kitano氏（€10,410）がランクインした。
Rintaro Kagawa氏氏は2016年のEPTモンテカルロでもメインイベントで54位入賞（獲得賞金€ 16,830）しており、自身2度目のEPTメイン入賞となった。2022年5月14日現在総獲得賞金は42,450ドル。
Kazuhiko Yotsushika氏は獲得賞金ランキングで日本人2位に付けている実力者。2018年のEPTバルセロナでは€25,000 No Limit Hold’emで優勝（賞金€370,300）している。今回はFPSのメインでも121位（€2,780）で入賞を果たしている。2022年5月14日現在総獲得賞金は1,721,538ドル。
Toru Ida氏は2021年のWSOP $1,000 No Limit Hold’em – Little One for One Dropで229位入賞（$2939）、更にその後、 Autumn at Aria Poker Seriesの$400 No Limit Hold’emでは優勝を果たしている（$13,485）。2022年5月14日現在総獲得賞金は28,335ドル。
Kosei Kitano氏は今回が海外ライブトーナメント初入賞。24歳での入賞は横澤真人氏の26歳を上回り日本人最年少記録となった。2022年5月14日現在総獲得賞金は10,951ドル。
